The Academy

Academy of Advanced Hair Design was established in 2008 making it the newest, freshest, most up to date dynamic education and training facility in Queensland.  The founder Panayota Thomas has over 20 years experience in the hairdressing industry as an educator, salon owner, platform presenter, judge, session stylist, hair show and stage director, consultant on both the national and international stage.

She spent a further 15 years in research and development in the quest to formulate a program and training facility that would best benefit salons and up and coming stylists, that is second to none.  Her goal was to create an environment that captured all the necessary elements that would lead to an exciting career path with exceptionally high standards that would accelerate the image of our industry.

Academy of Advanced Hair Design has access to worldwide research and development of resources and educational strategies and is currently co-authoring the most up to date, innovative learning tool specific to the Australian national standards.

The Academy offers intensive training in;

  • WRH50106 Diploma of hairdressing Salon Management
  • WRH40106 Certificate IV in Hairdressing
  • WRH30109 Certificate III in Hairdressing, and
  • WRH20106 Certificate II in Hairdressing

As well as providing training to full time and school based Queensland apprentices, refresher and advanced courses and is on the Queensland Governments Preferred Supplier scheme to deliver Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL).  As a graduate you will achieve greatness through the finest training by the Academy’s highly regarded and internationally renowned tertiary qualified lecturers.  And you will leave armed with the knowledge and cutting edge creativity to be the best you can be, opening doors to top quality salons around the world.

The Academy of Advanced Hair Design continues to remain at the for front of the industry due to our dedication to continuous research and development and as a result we are able to specialise in short courses and skills up-dates in advanced creative fashion styling.

Course durations are from 2 days to 2 years and can be completed in a full-time or part-time capacity.  The Academy also offers a FAST-TRACK option for study, opening its doors to all who want to create a long and successful career in a forever evolving creative industry.  We will give our graduates a guarantee that they will acquire and access the tools necessary for a career creating masterpieces.
