Apprenticeship training
From the beginning the hairdressing industry has employed a system of training that enables its junior members the opportunity to learn and apply new skills in and outside the workplace. The Academy of Advanced Hair Design has endeavoured to create a training schedule that is best suited to students reaching their full potential, while understanding the rigors of running a functional salon.
With over 20 years industry experience in training and employing apprentices our Director of Education places great importance on fully integrating both theoretical and practical skills. And is a strong advocate for Apprentice productivity in the workplace.
Methods of training
Day release; the apprentice, salon and Academy will negotiate an appropriate day of attendance that will suit the individuals needs. The Apprentice is required to attend on the nominated day every week for the duration of the apprenticeship. The Academy will notify the salon of holidays or student free days.
Block release; the apprentice, salon and Academy will negotiate all block dates prior to commencement. The Apprentice is required to attend three 2week releases throughout the duration of the year. Salons will be notified of holidays or student free days.
School-based trainees:
The Academy is fully equipped to facilitate school-based training, with its flexibility to the needs of students and government requirements. This is a great option for students who wish to enter the industry on a part-time basis and encourages them to earn while they learn.
For all school-based enquiries please contact Emma, our Student Liaison Officer.
